Introduction
Coach Maximus ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect when you use the Coach Maximus mobile application (the "App"), why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have over it.
By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Key Privacy Principle: Local-First Architecture
Coach Maximus is designed to keep as much of your data on your device as possible. The following data is stored only on your device and is never uploaded to our servers:
- Progress photos (front, side, and back)
- Detailed workout logs and session history
- Nutrition and meal logs
- Supplement logs
- Body measurements
Deleting the App will permanently erase this locally stored data. We recommend backing up your device regularly if this data is important to you.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide During Setup
To build your personalized plan, the App asks you to provide the following during onboarding. This data is used on your device to generate your plan and, where applicable, may be associated with your account:
- Fitness goal (e.g., build muscle, lose weight, improve endurance)
- Experience level
- Available equipment
- Injuries or physical limitations
- Age, gender, height, and weight (for nutrition macro calculations)
Account Information
If you create an account or upgrade to Coach Maximus Pro, we collect:
- Email address
- Subscription status and purchase history
Subscription payments are processed by Apple (App Store), Google (Google Play), or RevenueCat, our subscription management provider. We do not receive or store your credit card or payment details.
Technical and Device Data
When you use the App, we may automatically collect certain technical information to maintain service quality and diagnose issues, including:
- Device type, model, and operating system version
- App version and session identifiers
- Crash reports and anonymized error logs
In-App Usage and Analytics Data
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the App. This helps us improve features and fix issues. Firebase Analytics may collect:
- Features and screens accessed within the App
- Frequency and duration of App sessions
- Device type, operating system, and country-level location (not precise GPS)
- Anonymous app usage events
We do not collect precise GPS location data. The App does not request location permissions.
Website Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to understand how people use our website and marketing pages. This tool collects anonymized, aggregated data and does not use cookies or track you across other websites. The data collected may include:
- Pages visited on our website
- Device type and operating system
- Country-level location (not precise location)
- Referrer URL
Advertising Data (Free Tier)
Free-tier users of the App may see advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as your Advertising ID) and usage data to serve ads, including interest-based or personalized ads. This data is collected and processed by Google in accordance with their privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time by adjusting your device settings:
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → disable ad tracking
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization
Pro subscribers do not see advertisements.
Push Notifications
If you grant permission, the App may send you local push notifications (e.g., workout reminders). Notification permissions are managed entirely on your device. You may withdraw this permission at any time through your device settings. We do not use a third-party push notification service for personalized or marketing messages.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To generate and adapt your personalized workout and nutrition plans
- To manage your account and Pro subscription
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests
- To send important service updates and security notices
- To analyze overall usage patterns and improve the App (using anonymized analytics only)
- To serve advertisements to free-tier users (via Google AdMob)
- To diagnose technical issues and maintain service reliability
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data.
Third-Party Services
The following third-party services are used in connection with the App or our website. Each is subject to its own privacy policy:
- Apple App Store / Google Play Store — handle App distribution and payment processing for some users.
- RevenueCat — manages in-app subscription entitlements. May process your subscription status and a pseudonymous user identifier. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
- Supabase — provides backend database and authentication infrastructure. Your account data (email, subscription status, and account-linked fitness data) is stored on Supabase's servers. See supabase.com/privacy.
- Firebase Analytics (Google) — provides in-app usage analytics. See policies.google.com/privacy.
- Google AdMob — serves advertisements to free-tier users and may collect device advertising identifiers. See policies.google.com/privacy.
- Vercel Analytics — provides anonymized website analytics. No cookies, no cross-site tracking.
Data Retention
Data stored locally on your device is retained until you delete the App or manually clear it within settings. Account data (email, subscription status, and account-linked fitness data) stored on our backend is retained for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal and business obligations. You may request deletion at any time by contacting us at thecoachmaximus@gmail.com.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to remove that information.
Users between the ages of 13 and 18 should use the App only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Security of Your Personal Data
We implement appropriate technical and organizational safeguards to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use the App at your own risk.
Your Rights (GDPR — EU/EEA Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the GDPR:
- Right of Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you

- Right to Data Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Right to Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing purposes
- Right to Withdraw Consent — withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

Where we rely on consent as the legal basis for processing (e.g., personalized advertising), you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
Your Rights (CCPA — California Residents)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, or sell
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal information)
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights

Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you via the App or by email (if we have your email address) at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
